DayDreamer: Sleeping Kit for daytime resters
“
As part of my thesis, I explored how design interventions could help improve the after-work experience for this often-overlooked group. One of the outcomes is Daydreamer, a comprehensive sleep solution specifically tailored to support daytime sleepers in creating an optimal rest environment.
Daydreamer includes a suite of three carefully designed products that address three distinct barriers that third-shift workers face when trying to achieve quality daytime rest.

Problem
Due to the fact that the schedules of third-shift workers are completely out of sync with normal circadian rhythms, their suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) is affected by daylight when they attempt to sleep during the day, which interferes with their ability to fall asleep. Through interviews with five third-shift workers from different professions and an analysis of their sleep patterns, we identified three key pain points that hinder their ability to fall asleep.
Design principle
Through a deep look into the sleeping market, I found out that although there are a lot of sleep assistance products on the market, such as 红外光线治疗, there is a lack of products that focus on the third shift workers, they are more or less not meet with the design princeples above or lack of the features that focus on the third shift workers.

Opportunities
How might we help daytime sleepers gradually calm their minds while still in an excited state, so they can fall asleep more quickly?

Processes
